By definition, a building is a sculpture as it is a three-dimensional object. However, there is a moment of truth that has many similarities between art and architecture. When constructing a building, there is a reality of the case. We are a customer, a context, a budget, the era in which we live while you realize: factors of all kinds ... and the process requires a certain level of understanding of all these forces.
One must also take into account the intellectual involvement with the client. I'm interested in this aspect with models and sketches, moving constantly from one dimension to another. [...]
I have to work in a very intuitive, so I collect a lot of information on the project and on the individuals involved. [...]
The impulse to solve the customer's problem is present. The impulse to ensure that buildings arise on time and within budget, to remain in the context: I do pay all the traditional tasks of the architects.
They are all discounted items: I speak, because they are facts. If you plan to create a building for a client, you have to be accountable to it. You have to do something that (a) he pleases, (b) will be worth your spending and (c) will last and satisfy his needs. On the other hand, I will also ask myself questions.
Probably with clients are more controversial than most. I take me to question their programs, to raise doubts about their intentions ... we develop an intense relationship that ends in a synergistic way to give, in my opinion, more positive results because the customer has devoted more time to reflect on the program and their desires and is more involved. [...]
In my opinion, one of the important aspects of the building is in my idea of ??accessibility. The building has a body language whose message is: "revenue". The architectural structures not restrict who enters and leaves. For me, the crucial question is: what does the building to passersby, as welcomes them? Some my architectural language will appear strange. But they will also feel comfortable in my buildings.
